Puppy health tips and advice

As said earlier puppies are just like babies and so need to be taken care of just like babies. After bringing home a puppy it should be shown to a vet. Puppies are prone to diseases like Canine Distemper Virus, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus and Coronavirus. Puppies should be vaccinated to prevent them from these diseases. A common multivalent vaccine for all the above diseases is DHLPPCv. Even after vaccinating, puppy check-ups should be periodically undertaken.

Below is a table of the vaccination schedule.
  • 6 to 7 weeks of age: 1 st DHLPPCv vaccination.
  • 9 weeks: 2 nd DHLPPCv vaccination.
  • 12 weeks: 3 rd DHLPPCv vaccination and a LYME Vaccine.
  • 16 weeks: last DHLPPCv vaccination.
  • 12-16 weeks: Rabies vaccine.
